Let us remember together!
Awarding ceremony of István Füzéki Medallion

The Association of Hungarian Librarians and its cooperating partners including National Széchényi Library, the Hungarian Library Institute and the Library of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office will hold a commemoration ceremony, starting at 11:30 on Wednesday October 25, 2017 in honor of the heroes of the Hungarian Revolution and Freedom Fight of 1956.

With a wreathing ceremony, we will commemorate our colleague István Füzéki, who was executed by the Soviet troops for his courageous attitude.

The ceremony will also include the handing over of István Füzéki Medallion and the greeting of this year’s award winner Dr. Antal Arató.

Laudation will be delivered by István Kocsis, retired library director, honorary citizen of Hatvan, member of the advisory board of István Füzéki Medallion Award.

It is our opportunity to commemorate and to greet at the same time. The martyr heroes and the heroes of everyday life have done their duty. Come and be with us to make the festive moments even more festive, to place a flower at István Füzéki’s memorial tablet and to greet the award winner.

Venue: National Széchényi Library, Ceremonial Hall on Floor 6, and the space in front of István Füzéki’s memorial tablet
