Taiwanese afternoon in Budapest

The world of Taiwan is not unknown for visitors of National Széchényi Library. As part of the cooperation agreement signed by NSZL and the National Central Library of Taiwan in spring 2015, a grandiose exhibition will arrive in Budapest in October, 2016. The exhibition will present books known as part of the high culture of Taiwan.

Opening ceremony of the exhibition will start at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 15, 2016. Visitors are cordially invited to a Taiwanese afternoon related to the event.

In addition to looking at the exhibited specialties, visitors can also listen to a scientific lecture delivered (in English) by Professor Max K. W. Huan. Those interested in the topic will be offered tea, interactive activities, music played by music academy students arriving from Taiwan, and some other small surprises.

The afternoon will be closed by a culinary tour of authentic Taiwanese cuisine.

Program:
Date: Saturday October 15, 2016, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
14:00 –14:15 Guests will be greeted by László Vizi, Head of the Department of Cultural Diplomacy (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade) and Wen-Lung Tao, Head of Representation, Taipei Representative Office.

14:30–15:45 Scientific lecture given (in English) by China researcher Prof. Max K.W. Huang (Academia Sinica, Taiwan, Institute of Modern History)
15:45-16:00 Tea tasting

16:00–16:10 Traditional Taiwanese live music
16:10–16:30 Exhibition will be opened by Director-General László Tüske and Director-General Shu-hsien Tseng.
