Professor Krasimira Aleksandrova, Directress of the St. St. Cyril and Methodius National Library of Bulgaria paid a visit to National Széchényi Library.

Based on a cooperation agreement signed previously by the two institutions, a delegation of the national library of Bulgaria arrived in NSZL. The main aim of the meeting was to identify relics of early Bulgarian book printing kept in the Hungarian national library. Copies kept in the collection of NSZL are of special importance to the Bulgarian experts, since during the Ottoman occupation of Bulgaria, Hungary was the only place where they could have their books printed in their own language.

The delegation was received by Dr. László Tüske, Director-General of National Széchényi Library, and special help with the identification of texts was provided by Dr. Xénia Golub, Cyrillica expert of our Library.
