As part of cooperation between the Hungarian Embassy to Jordan and the President of the University of Jordan in Amman, a Hungarian Corner was opened on Sunday December 9, 2018 at the Central Library of the University of Jordan. The cultural corner was inaugurated by President Professor Dr. Abdel-Karim Al-Qudah, the Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan Csaba Czibere, and Dr. László Tüske, Director-General of National Széchényi Library.

The Hungarian Corner has been set up with book donations from the Bánffy Miklós Library of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, National Széchényi Library, Kosáry Domokos Library and Archives of Szent István University, Gödöllő, and the University Library of Pécs. The collection was launched with an initial stock of more than two-hundred documents that will stay together after they are cataloged. The final location of the collection will be at a central space of the university library.

Following the opening ceremony, László Tüske delivered a lecture on issues related to Oriental studies in Hungary. The lecture was attended by leaders of the university, students and representatives of the Alumni Hungary Club, as well as Hungarian scholarship students studying in Amman.
