Zirc-based Cistercian Historic Library opened its doors again

On Saturday June 20, 2020, the Cistercian Historic Library of National Széchényi Library opened its doors again to tourists.
As of Tuesday June 23, readers can also visit the library again.

As of Saturday June 20, 2020, the library is open to visitors Tuesday to Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. for the entire duration of the high season, i.e. until September 30. The library can be visited only in the framework of guided tours, starting at the times indicated below.

Tours start at:
9:15, 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, 13:15, 14:15, 15:15 and 16:15.

Tickets can be purchased at the Cistercian Visitor Center.
 

 

We would like to draw your attention to the following preventive rules, in line with those of NSZL, related to the pandemic situation:

  • Only ten visitors are allowed to enter the library at a time; 
  • It is compulsory to wear a mask or scarf covering the nose and the mouth; 
  • We recommend you to use the hand sanitizer located at the entrance;
  • Visitors arriving from various households are kindly requested to keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters!

Reading room of the Cistercian Historic Library of National Széchényi Library can also be visited by visitors and researchers as of June 23, 2020.

Opening hours: Tuesday to Friday, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Pre-registration is required to use the library.

In connection with the above-mentioned, coronavirus-related pandemic measures for the use of the library, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that we can only receive two researchers at a time in the library.
