On March 9, 2018, NSZL will present a book published jointly with L’Harmattan Publishing House at the FUGA Center of Architecture. The book deals with the housing issue in the 1950s in Hungary.
The Collection of Posters and Small Prints set up an exhibition to celebrate the 170th anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution and War of Independence of 1848-1849.

Digital collections expanding as a result of joint work fill in gaps in the stock of National Széchényi Library.

Our Library will restore the document collection of Nagyszalonta including some 4,000 items, the majority of which are books and the most precious part of which are manuscripts. The valuable collection arrived in Budapest in February 2018, following one-year of preparatory and administrative work.

A free online higher education database including books published by Typotex Publishing House has been available in NSZL since 2018. Library readers can have access to the database via computers placed in our reading rooms.
As of January 27, 2018, NSZL will host a double exhibition set up by the Institute of Visual Communication of Budapest Metropolitan University (METU). The exhibition presents creative works made by secondary grammar school students, sent in for the Food Chain competition, and works created by the most outstanding students of graphic training.

The 6th grade students of Szentendre-based József Barcsay Elementary School have won our short film competition announced in October 2017. Congratulations to both the students and their teachers!

National Széchényi Library currently subscribes to three services of Akadémiai Kiadó, namely, the journals and dictionaries packages and the so-called MeRSZ, which provides Library users with an unlimited access to the full text of Hungarian and foreign-language journals included in these packages, to dictionaries published by the Kiadó, as well as to the continuously expanding electronic collection of basic and reference books.

The series entitled Orientalists in NSZL will be continued with a lecture by Mária Ivanics on February 21, 2018. The lecturer will present the image of an ideal leader on the steppe, in societies that had remained on the level of tribal alliance, via the analysis of a late 17th century source in Eastern Turkish, originating from the area of the Volga.
