In cooperation with other libraries, the Hungarian national library is currently working on the renewal of its complete IT infrastructure and on the renewal of the library systems. Related to that, on December 18, 2017, Slovak company Tempest will present its solutions that can be interesting for the Hungarian library community.

Between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Thursday November 30, 2017, a professional day entitled Libraries in a New Role: Innovative Services will be held as part of K2 further training series entitled Modern Library, Advanced Services.

ARANY 200 – NSZL 215

The 215-year old Hungarian national library celebrates János Arany, born 200 years ago, related to the Library foundation festivities as well. A two-day Scientific Session, discount book sales, the finals of a nationwide reciting competition entitled Te aranyok Aranya! (You Gold (Arany) of Golds!) and a Family Day, featuring guided tours, museum education and handicraft workshops and games for families, will be offered to our visitors.

Joint concert of Kaláka Ensemble and Péter Huzella

At 7 p.m. on November 23, 2017, a joint festive concert of Kaláka Ensemble and Péter Huzella will start in National Széchényi Library. The event will celebrate Hungarian poet János Arany who was born 200 years ago.

Family Day on November 25

Finals of János Arany Reciting Competition will be accompanied by a Family Day in NSZL, during which special guided tours the János Arany exhibition will be held on several occasions. Throughout the day, our guests will be offered plays for families guided by museum educators, handicraft workshops and games guided by our restorers, and discount book sales.

Oppressive Past for Twenty-seven Years – Conference in HAS

On November 16, 2017, the Department of Philosophy and History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences will hold a conference entitled Huszonhét éve terhes múlt (Oppressive Past for Twenty-seven Years) where three staff members of 1956 Institute – Oral History Archives will also deliver lectures.

Cooperation with the National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco
