The collection was founded by Katalin Fülep, PhD between 1998 and 2001. NSZL’s Coat of Arms Collection includes coats of arms, carved in oak and pear trees, as well as writing tapes. The coats of arms decorate the Boardroom on Floor 5 and the Library’s Ceremonial Hall on Floor 6.

  • Coat of arms of  Széchényi family and a writing tape containing the family’s slogan;
  • Hungary’s so-called small coat of arms with the Holy Crown and entwined by oak as well as olive branches;
  • Writing tape depicting the collector’s slogan of NSZL’s founder;
  • Coats of arms of Hungary’s historical counties (on a separate board, some of them in several versions);
  • Hungary’s so-called medium coat of arms with the Holy Crown.

The coats of arms decorate the Boardroom on Floor 5 and the Library’s Ceremonial Hall on Floor 6. They were made by János Sándor, a wood carver of Székelyszentistván (Transylvania).
