The aim of cooperation between the parties is to jointly mobilize their academic and practical databases as well as relations networks, in order to achieve common professional goals, with special regard to achieving the following:

  • Presentation of the national library and special library operation and activities of NSZL, and the practical application of knowledge gained in higher education to students of ELTE BTK KITI.

In order to help students majoring in IT and library science at Eötvös Loránd University, NSZL drew up a plan to work out a scholarship system, in order to help young entrants with an outstanding talent to get a job in NSZL in the near future. Intensively involving its lecturers and students of the library science doctoral program, ELTE BTK KITI helps to preserve and raise the professional level of Könyvtári Figyelő (Library Observer), a journal specializing in library and information science.

On the occasion of the signing ceremony, Director-General László Tüske and Director of Institute Péter Kiszl agreed upon a more intense continuation of joint professional work already existing in various areas between the two institutions, hoping to open up new vistas for the Hungarian national library and the higher educational institution, which was the first high-level training location in Hungary, and also the one with the greatest number of students, in the field of library and information science. ELTE BTK KITI offers training for BA, MA as well as PhD students.
