Director-General of NSZL at the World Congress of Reading

Dr. László Tüske, Director-General of National Széchényi Library was invited to the 3rd World Congress of Reading which was held on September 11 and 12, 2018 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Participants were mainly writers and representatives of the international cultural and librarian communities, as well as press staff. Main topic of the world congress was the role authors, “mediators” and critics play in today’s reading culture. Discussed were, among others, new literary tendencies, popularization of national literature, the renewal of library technologies, and the development of IT resources and library services. Dr. László Tüske joined the agenda of the congress by his lecture given on the state of digital literacy in Hungary.
