In the framework of the King Matthias memorial year, organized by Szent László Egyesület (Saint Ladislaus Association), as part of the lecture series held with the support of Bethlen Gábor Foundation, Edina Zsupán, curator of NSZL’s exhibition entitled The Corvina Library and the Buda Workshop will deliver a lecture in Nagyvárad (Oradea) at 5:30 p.m. on November 28, 2018.

The lecture will present King Matthias Hunyadi’s library from a new perspective, pointing out that, in addition to the decorative manuscripts ordered from Italy, splendid Renaissance codices had also been made in the royal court of Buda. Those interested in the topic will get acquainted with the less explored, exciting world of the Buda workshop; with detective methods, they can follow up the formation of the Renaissance-era library in Buda, in which Iohannes Vitéz involuntarily played an important role.
Venue: Nagyvárad Castle, Building I, Conference Hall on Floor 1
