Our colleague, Rita Radó, who is also a PhD student at ELTE LIS (Eötvös Loránd University, Institute of Library & Information Science), will deliver a lecture entitled Digital document and collection analysis – using qualitative and quantitative methods based on FADGI- and library strandards guidelines at the Qualitative and Quantitative Methods in Libraries International Conference (QQML) conference to be held in Florence between May 28 and 31. QQML 2019 is an international conference held on the 11th occasion in the library and information science series. The conference has been organized with the support of the International Society for the Advancement of Science and Technology (ISAST).

Title of the lecture to be delivered by our colleague is the following: Digital document and collection analysis – using qualitative and quantitative methods based on FADGI- and library strandards guidelines.

Resume of the presentation:

Evaluation is the best tool to learn and understand a system. However, evaluation and operational research have certain processes and methods. The findings of different methods can be divided into quantitative and qualitative data, but most methods can produce both types of data. Descriptions of these methods and indicators are also included in the library standards for uniform use and for effective results. In this study I analyzed The Electronic Periodical Archives and Database (EPA) with the above-mentioned performance indicators. EPA is an archive managing, equipped with source and location registration system of electronic periodicals, and also a national web site database operated by the National Széchényi Library.

Rita Radó’s participation in the conference was sponsored by National Széchényi Library and Magyar Információtudományi Alapítvány (Hungarian Information Science Foundation).
