Based on Government Decree No. 1605/2016. (XI. 8.), a Digitization Center will be set up on Floor 8 of the Library building. All the necessary devices have been purchased and new staff has been hired.

Installment work was originally planned for the period of the summer closure, but the implementation tender invited by KIFÜ (Hungarian Government Agency for IT Development) turned out to be invalid. New tender is being invited, and that delays the start of reconstruction.

However, installation of digitization equipment could no longer be delayed, so NSZL decided to temporarily set up workstations of the Digitization Center in the General Reading Room of the Library. Consequently, now there is a limit on the use of this room.

Multimedia division of the Reading Room was moved to the catalog space, partly in place of our online catalogs. No place numbers are issued to the General Reading Room, but the stock placed on free shelves can be used with the help of reference librarians who are on duty in this room. You can sit down to read in the Reading Room of the Library of Book History, Library and Information (Hungarian abbreviation: KSZK). Documents taken from the free shelves of the General Reading Room are allowed to be taken to the reading rooms of our Special Collections.

Reading Room of the Library of Book History, Library and Information keeps on receiving readers during the regular opening hours.

General Reading Room and the Reading Room of KSZK can be approached via the glass door next to the elevator.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding. In case you need help, feel free to contact NSZL staff members on duty.
