We would like to inform you that one of the possible access routes to our library, the entrance to the express elevator on Palota Street and the elevator itself, will be temporarily closed for demolition works between 25 May 2021 and 6 June 2021.

Alternative pedestrian routes are the stairs next to the Karakas Pasa Tower or the Szent György Street from Dísz Square.

From 11 May 2021, we welcome all interested visitors and customers to the bookshop and gift shop of the National Széchényi Library. Our newest books can already be found on the shelves!

The shop is open from Tuesday to Friday between 10 AM and 5 PM. 

In line with the to the epidemiological regulations, two customers are allowed on the premises at the same time.

The volume Mapping the Nation (A számontartott nemzet) presenting the history of Hungary between 1867 and 1945 using statistical maps, was edited by Dávid Rózsa, Director General of the National Széchényi Library and Barna Rovács, staff member of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office.

Due to epidemiological restrictions, the HUNGARNET Association, in cooperation with the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and the Digital Success Programme, is organizing online the event NETWORKSHOP, the most prestigious national computer network and application informatics conference of higher education, public education, research and public collections. The event will take place between April 6 and 9, 2021.
